About this Retreat
Join us at Synergia Ranch for a weeklong generative writing retreat that explores the space between prose, poetry, and memoir. Each day includes craft discussions, writing prompts, and group conversation designed to stretch your work into new forms. Whether your poems need narrative depth or your stories crave lyricism, this workshop invites experimentation and play.
You’ll write every day and have the space to dive deep—into a new piece, a long-stalled project, or whatever emerges. All levels welcome.
Held at the stunning Synergia Ranch outside Santa Fe, NM, the retreat is surrounded by four mountain ranges and offers bright blue skies, adobe architecture, and peace. Sessions meet in a geodesic dome designed by Buckminster Fuller. Chef-prepared meals are included, with dietary needs accommodated.
About the Presenters
Robert Vaughan is the author of six books, most recently Askew (2022). His work blurs boundaries between genre and form, inviting writers to take creative risks. He’ll guide you in experimenting with hybrid writing and seeing your work from new angles.
Nancy Stohlman is an award-winning author of six books, including After the Rapture and Going Short: An Invitation to Flash Fiction. Her work has appeared in New Micro, The Best Small Fictions, and beyond. A renowned teacher, she brings energy and insight into the practice of short, sharp storytelling.

- 30- 45 days prior, full refund.
- 15- 30 days prior, half refund.
If you withdraw from a workshop or retreat within two weeks prior to the start of the workshop or retreat, or if your event has already started and you need to drop, you are ineligible for a refund and you will be required to pay the full course fee.
