How do I register? 

On this page, choose the retreat you want to attend. You’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked to select your desired room type—this functions as your registration. You’ll be billed $500 as your initial deposit. The remaining balance will be due two months prior to your retreat.

How do I pay?

You can make your initial deposit via PayPal or by sending a check to:

We ask that your final payment be made via PayPal or check (mailed to the same address). If you want to use PayPal for the next payment as well, a $20 processing fee will be applied.

What if I have to cancel?

We really hope you don’t have to cancel, but should your plans change, you can get a full refund if you cancel with 45 days notice.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund deposits for cancellations made after those dates.

What is the format for the workshop?

This is a generative writing workshop, with plenty of time built in to write. We will have craft talks every morning, and an afternoon creative session in the afternoons. Also, writers will have the opportunity to receive and give supportive feedback about their work during one on ones with the instructors. A possible evening session will be added also.

Will I get feedback on work I’ve already written?

Yes, you will get feedback daily, during our meetings.

What should I do to prepare for the workshop?

Once we have gathered a list of registrants, Robert will send out a bibliography list of materials that you might consider reading prior to Synergia. of course, anthologies like Rose Metal Press’s Field Guide To Flash Fiction and Field Guide to Prose Poetry are wonderful. As is the Best Small Fictions series.

How do I get to Cedar Valley?

From Milwaukee airport: Head north on S. Howell Avenue and continue on continue on Airport Spur (W-119 W.) Keep middle on Airport Spur toward Milwaukee/ 1-94/ Chicago. Take exit in Milwaukee onto 1-94W (North-South Highway). Continue on 1-43 to exit 73A toward W 145N/ Fond Du Lac Ave. Turn left onto 1-145 W. Take exit toward 1- 45 N/ 1-41 N. Take 1- 41N to exit 72 toward WI- 33/CR-W/ West Bend. Turn left onto County Road WW. Turn right onto County Road D. Look for 5349 County Road D, turn in. YOU HAVE ARRIVED!!!

From Madison airport:
Find your way to 1-94 E, exit on W- 26 N to W-16/ W-60, take W-60, take third exit from roundabout onto County Road P, Continue on County Road P, take second exit on roundabout, continue on County Road D. Turn right on County Road DW. This will become St. Anthony Road, turn left on County Road WW. Go for two miles, turn right onto County Road D. About one mile look for Cedar Valley sign. Turn into driveway. YOU HAVE ARRIVED!!!
