Pick a structure you wouldn’t normally think of using to tell a story: a menu, a set of instructions, a list, a recipe, liner notes, Netflix descriptions – anything at all. Use that structure to write an emotionally affecting, perhaps even over the top story. This should be a story where something life changing happens – a death, a divorce, a marriage, a child is born, a life is looked back on – something profound. The structure should balance the story out, take it from tipping over into melodrama.

Keep it short – under 750 words.
