Dear Students

Some thoughts so far.
What I’m seeing and experiencing is freedom in the writing, not only form but language; combining things that usually aren’t combined, putting events, images, and objects together that aren’t usually found together. It’s startling and so very original, and because of that, captivating.

I’m also seeing cohesion arise on its own. The logic or reason of the piece in its broken state is often found in an image or word. War, a relationship breaking, crackling, random thoughts, the swing of life and death. That’s interesting how it emerges seemingly automatically, and it makes me think that there is an inherent paradox with pieces; that the brokenness and the wholeness are in conversation at all times. And if you just write, let the words pour out, you’ll find the inherent conversation between the two seemingly opposite ways of being.

Can’t wait to see what you write today!
