Day 2 Prompts

1) The person of your dreams shows up at your door, asking if you’d like to go out for coffee. Surprised, and confused, you say yes. At coffee shop as he/she is talking, you discover he/she thinks you are someone else.

2) You are going down a long road in the middle of the night. Every ten or fifteen minutes or so you pass a one-armed hitchhiker, the other arm raised, asking for a ride. You decide to ignore them all. After a while, you notice you are passing the same hitchhiker over and over.

3) You’ve woken up in the middle of the night, startled from an intense dream. You get a glass of water. From the hallway window you notice all your neighbors standing outside your house watching you.

4) Your eccentric aunt recently died and left you her estate, which includes a rather large house filled with doors that don’t always lead where you’d expect.

5) Select a lyric that you find unusual or arresting (Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone) and use it as a dropping off point. See where the exercise takes you?
